In 2003,Coetzee won the Nobel Prize in Literature for his works such as Disgrace.The planning of different spaces in the novel influences and promotes the construction of the identity of the main characters.Because of different spatial practices,the main characters have realized the reshaping of their own identities.By analyzing the impact of spatial representation on the identity crisis of Western whites in the postcolonial society of South Africa,this paper aims to provide more enlightenment for the repair of colonial trauma.
