政治文本中性状词“好”的英译研究

A Study on the English Translation of the Character Words"好"in Political Texts

近年来基本层次范畴词已被国内学者深入探讨,而性状词英译这一领域极少受到关注。作为基本范畴词,性状词广泛存在于汉语文本中,充当着十分重要的成分,在政治文本中尤为常见。政治文本是外国了解中国的一扇窗,其英译质量的好坏影响中国形象的塑造。为探讨性状词在政治文本中的英译现象,该研究采用案例分析法,以政治文本中的性状词为研究对象,对性状词“好”这一词英译的词法翻译方式展开研究和讨论。研究结果表明,政治文本中性状词“好”字的英译采用多种翻译方法,不仅是对等译法,而且还根据语境和意义的不同,采用不同的翻译方法,以确保源文本内容准确传递给读者。

In recent years,basic-level category words have been deeply discussed by domestic scholars,but the field of English translation of character words alone has received little attention.Character words widely exist in Chinese texts,especially in political texts.Political texts are a window for foreign countries to understand China,which means that the quality of their English translation affects the shaping of China's image.This study selects character words in political texts as the research object,and conducts research and discussion on the morphological translation methods of the character word“好”by using case analysis method.The result of the study shows that the English translation of the character word“好”in political texts uses multiple translation methods,not just equivalence translation,but different translation methods are used according to different contexts and meanings to ensure the accurate transmission of the source text to readers.
