The Poetry Talks of JiangKui represents the quintessence of Jiang Kui's poetic thoughts,while also standing as an important work of Song dynasty poetry criticism,holding a significant place in the development history of Song poetics.This article mainly explores Jiang Kui's poetic ideology and its origins.First,through The Poetry Talks of Jiang Kui,it elaborates on the primary contents of Jiang's poetic thoughts,which encompass the aesthetic ideals of"profundity"and"etherealness",emphasis on unifying"regulated verse"with"living expression",combining Confucian notions of poetic education with Daoist advocacy of naturalness,as well as the pursuit of"meaning"and"rhythm".Next,it investigates the historical context behind the formation of his poetic views against the background of the elegantization in Southern Song,along with the connotations of"elegance".Finally,it analyzes the intrinsic factors leading to the genesis of his poetic thoughts,from the perspective of the poet's life experiences and personality traits.Studying the context and causes behind the formation of Jiang Kui's poetic theory can facilitate an in-depth understanding of his poetic style,while also laying the groundwork for research on poetic theories of the same period.
