虞翻易学旁通说的基石是阴阳消息及由此确立的六虚表里显隐之位。借助旁通,虞翻揭示了现在之维下,天道与人事的显隐互通一体之象,显之象与隐之象共同构成以显之象为主导的整全之象的一体两面;过去到现在之维抑或现在到未来之维下,天道与人事的显隐一体、动变流转之象,诸象不是现成已然的象,而是逐渐生成、动态展开的象,诸象间表里显隐一体,动态逐次进退变化相通着,构成本卦之象整全显隐流转视域下的一体两面,由此昭示世界为一涵摄贯通场、流转相通场。

he basis of Yu Fan's(164-233) theory of pang tong(lateral lineage) is the waning and waxing of yin-yang and the visible or invisible positions of six lines based on this. With the help of pang tong, Yu Fan revealed that in the current dimension, the Dao of heaven and the Dao of humans are mutually transferred and construct a whole image. The visible image and invisible image form two sides of the whole complete image together dominated by the visible image. It is an image that obtains from past to present or from present to future, and is visible-invisible formed and dynamically circulating. The various images are not ready-made, but gradually generated and dynamically unfolded. The internal and external, visible and invisible aspects of images are integrated;they exchange and interconnect dynamically and gradually, form the two sides of one hexagram under the perspective of complete visibleinvisible circulation, thus revealing that the world is a cohesive, circulating and interconnected field.
