亚东图书馆编辑汪乃刚考述及其他

A Study on Wang Naigang,an Editor of the Oriental Book Company

本文借助新发现的信件及其他一手史料,对亚东图书馆重要编辑汪乃刚的生平进行考述。由于汪乃刚与亚东图书馆主人汪孟邹以及汪原放的独特关系,对于汪乃刚的考述便具有网络关键节点的意义,其他一些相关史料得以有机串联起来,由此呈现出一幅更为整体的景观。本文在对亚东图书馆编辑汪乃刚进行打捞之外,至少还带来三方面的新发现:一是亚东图书馆家族化运作特征十分显明;二是对汪孟邹独特精神特质的进一步发掘;三是生动呈现出新书业对近现代知识分子的强大吸引力。

This article is a study on the life of Wang Naigang,an important editor of the Oriental Book Company,based on newly discovered letters and other first-hand historical materials.Due to Wang Naigang's special relationship with Wang Mengzou,the owner of the Oriental Book Company,and with Wang Yuanfang,the study of Wang Naigang has the significance as a key node in a network.Through it,some other related historical materials can be organically connected to present a more comprehensive landscape.In addition to the examination of Wang Naigang,this article brings at least three new findings.First,it is obvious that the Oriental Book Company was operated relying on familial relations.Second,Wang Mengzou's unique personality is worth further exploring.Third,it is vividly presented that the new book industry was strongly attractive to modern intellectuals.
