摘要
即时通讯软件的自动存档功能模糊了口头传播和书面传播的界限,社交媒体连通个人和公众的功能模糊了人际传播和大众传播的分野。这两种技术的混合使人们可以将原初情境中的角色展演移植到新的社会情境中,从而导致展演者的角色冲突。本文将这种语境移植现象定义为一种新的中区展演行为,以微信聊天记录截屏为例,考察不同语境移植情境下的角色展演模式。研究发现,存在被动型、协商型、共谋型三种有区隔且可转换的中区情境。三种中区的产生都取决于中区制造者对社会总收益的评估,亦受到主流社会规范的约束。然而,语境移植的潜在危害需要进一步评估与治理,以限制技术对个人隐私和公共道德的侵犯。
The auto-archiving feature of instant messaging software blurs the boundaries between oral and written communication, and the ability of social media to connect individuals and the public pierces the divide between interpersonal and mass communication. The hybridity of these two technologies transplants role performances in an original, usually private, occasion into a new social context, leading to the role conflicts of those who perform in both scenarios. Under the framework of dramaturgical theory, this study defines such context transplants as a new form of the middle region. Taking the sharing of Wechat log screenshots as a representative example, three differentiated yet transferable context transplant occasions were identified: the passive midde region, the negotiated middle region and the complicit middle region. The creation of middle region is determined by the producer's evaluation of the social relationship benefits and the dominant social norms. However, the potential harms of context transplants call for further investigation and regulations to restrain technological transgressions on individual privacy and public morality.
