Digital Divide and Youth Mental Health——An Empirical Analysis Based on CFPS Data

数字化发展的不均衡和数字不平等现象对青年心理的影响受到广泛关注。基于2020年中国家庭追踪调查(CFPS)的数据,研究检验了数字鸿沟对青年心理健康的影响及其作用机制。研究发现,数字鸿沟对青年心理影响显著:数字接入可显著提升青年心理健康水平;数字使用鸿沟方面,数字信息获取功能对青年心理健康具有负向影响,社会交往和休闲娱乐功能对青年心理健康的提升具有正向影响;数字使用时长对青年心理的影响存在断点效应,超过临界值将对其心理产生负向影响;数字鸿沟对青年心理健康的影响存在明显的地区差异和城乡差异,对不同受教育水平的青年的心理影响程度不同,数字信息获取对青年心理健康的负向影响小于中老年群体,数字鸿沟通过社会化参与影响青年的心理健康。基于此,应提高互联网普及率,引导青年正确使用数字技术,充分发挥数字技术对青年心理健康的积极作用。

The impact of uneven digital development and digital inequality on the psychological well-being of youth has received widespread attention.Based on data from the China Family Panel Studies(CFPS)2020,the study examined the impact of the digital divide on youth mental health and its mechanism of action.The study found that the digital divide has a significant impact on youth psychology: Internet access significantly enhances youth psychological health;with regard to the digital use divide, the digital information access function has a negative impact on youth psychological health level, while the social interaction and leisure and entertainment functions have a positive impact on the enhancement of youth psychological health;the impact of digital use length on youth psychology has a breakpoint effect,and exceeding the critical value will have a negative effect on their psychological. There are obvious regional and urban-rural differences in the impact of digital divide on youth mental health,and the degree of psychological impact on youth with different human capital is different,and the negative impact of digital information access on youth mental health is less than that of middle and old age groups. The mediated test revealed that the digital divide affects the psychological health of youth through socialization participation. Based on this,the Internet penetration rate should be increased,the digital skills of residents should be enhanced,the correct use of digital technology should be guided,and the positive effect of digital technology on youth mental health should be given full play.
