中医医院简介英译错误分析及翻译方法与策略研究

Analysis of English translation errors,methods and strategies of TCM hospital profiles

随着中医药国际化进程的加快,许多中医医院开始建设英文网站,并提供国际化服务,中医医院简介能够更好地帮助患者了解医院信息,但是目前中医医院官网上的简介翻译质量参差不齐,存在大量翻译错误。以功能翻译理论为指导,以国内18所三甲中医医院官方网页的中英文简介作为研究对象。通过对比分析国内三甲中医医院的简介和美国最新排名前20所医院的简介,指出三甲中医医院的英文简介存在的不同类型的翻译错误,统计各种错误的频次,对具有代表性的错误实例进行分析,提出改进中医医院简介英译的方法,并探讨提高简介翻译水平的策略。

With the acceleration of internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),many TCM hospitals have begun to construct English websites and provide international services.The profiles on their official websites can help patients access relevant information of the hospital.However,the quality of the existing translations of profiles on the websites of TCM hospitals varies considerably with many translation errors.The Chinese and English profiles on the official websites of 18 top-tier TCM hospitals in China were analyzed within the framework of the functionalist translation theory in comparison with the profiles of the top 20 hospitals in the United States according to the latest ranking.Specifically,this paper pointed out the different types of translation errors in the English profiles of TCM hospitals,counted the frequency of occurrence of various errors,analyzed typical error examples of each type,put forward specific skills to correct the errors and discussed general strategies to improve the quality of TCM hospital profile translation.
