New Cultural Organism:An Examination Based on Marx's Theory of World History

“第二个结合”是习近平文化思想的重大理论创新,是马克思主义文化理论中国化时代化的光辉典范。立足马克思世界历史理论,有助于深刻把握“第二个结合”的历史必然性与世界历史意义。在世界历史展开前,中华优秀传统文化具有朴素的社会主义元素,体现了“非资本主义”属性,这正是马克思主义与中华优秀传统文化互相契合之处。同时,中华优秀传统文化也有“前资本主义”属性,亟待马克思主义的现代激活,也为马克思主义提供文化土壤,这正是二者的互相成就之处。进入世界历史后,“第二个结合”破解了如何在经济社会相对落后、资本主义基础薄弱的古老中国建构中国特色社会主义的“历史之谜”。当前世界历史正在发生重大转变,马克思主义的“再中国化”旨在实现“再现代化”,即合理扬弃资本主义现代化,在资本主义的文明限度上重新定义现代化,此即中华民族现代文明的世界历史意义。

The“Second Combination”is a significant theoretical innovation in Xi Jinping Thought on Culture,and it is a shining example of the adaptation of Marxist cultural theory to the Chinese context and the needs of our times.Based on Marx's theory of world history,it helps us to deeply grasp the historical necessity and the significance in world history of the“Second Combination”。Before the unfolding of world history,China's fine traditional culture had already embraced plain socialist elements,with a characteristic of“non-capitalism”,which,in this sense,provides the point of convergence between Marxism and China's fine traditional culture.At the same time,China's fine traditional culture also remained at the stage of“pre-capitalism”,which is in need of the modern activation of Marxism and provides cultural soil for Marxism.This constitutes an opportunity of mutual support between Marxism and China's fine traditional culture.After entering world history,the“Second Combination”unveils the“historical mystery”,about how to construct socialism with Chinese characteristics in China,i.e.,a place once trapped in a relatively backward state of economy and culture and merely equipped with a fragile foundation for capitalism.As the current world history is undergoing significant transformations,the“re-sinicization”of Marxism aims at achieving“re-modernization”,which means reasonably discarding the negative aspects of capitalist modernity and redefining modernization beyond the limits of capitalist civilization.This constitutes the significance of the modern Chinese civilization in world history.
