浅谈翻译腔与会展翻译

An Exploratory Study of Exhibition English: on Translationese

受启发于一场国际会议中的翻译个案,本文结合时代背景及具体实例说明在翻译领域里“翻译腔”问题的历史演变过程。经过梳理中外文献中有关翻译腔、翻译体、翻译普遍性、中介语、杂合语言、第三类语码、归化与异化等概念,提出在翻译过程中处理翻译腔的策略应首先基于翻译目的论来根据三个最关键的要素决定取舍:读者构成、学科领域、时代特点。通过对翻译腔的溯源、定义,解析其原因和应对策略,希望以实践案例呈现新时代背景下翻译不同学科内容、针对不同受众时的翻译策略选择机理。

Inspired by a case study of translating and interpreting for an international conference,this paper illustrates the historical evolution of the issue of translationese,taking into account the context of the times and specific cases.After reviewing the literature on translationese and related concepts,the authors propose that the strategy of dealing with translationese should be based on the theory of Skopos and should be determined on the basis of the three most crucial elements:readership,discipline,and context.Through tracing the origin and definition of translationese,analysing its causes and coping strategies,authors present the mechanism of translation strategy selection when translating different contents and targeting at different audiences in the new era,particularly with practical cases of conferences and exhibitions.
