双重视阈与流动意识:澳新现代主义的本土性与跨地域性

Double Vision and Fluid Consciousness:Local and Cross-Regional Features of Antipodean Modernism

现代主义研究在21世纪以来持续不断地经历着重构。澳大利亚学者布莱克与穆奇于2011年提出的“澳新现代主义”这一概念不仅为大洋洲的现代主义文学研究拓展了视阈,也为大洋洲主要国家的现代主义研究开辟了新的路径。本文以艾赛儿·安德森、埃莉诺·达克、克里斯蒂娜·斯泰德、罗宾·海德、珍妮特·弗雷姆和凯瑟琳·曼斯菲尔德六位女作家为例,考察发生在20世纪前半叶的澳新现代主义文学的跨地域性特征。六位女作家的现代主义创作在描绘的双重视阈、探讨的人物流动意识和建构的文学场域方面普遍呈现了一种跨越地域限制、打破传统文学禁锢的流动特性,同时,她们在作品中传达的女性主体性也与其跨地域的现代意识相呼应。她们的创作充分表明,在20世纪初期的大洋洲,一种具有自身特色的现代主义文学已经发生。

Scholarship on Modernism has gone through some immense transformations in the 21st century.The term"Antipodean modernism",which was first put forward by Australian scholars Prudence Black and Stephen Muecke in 2011,provide a useful perspective to unfold the rich field of Oceanian modernist literature.This paper regards Antipodian Modernism as an important South Pacific variant of Euro-American modernism.Taking six Australian and New Zealand women writers from the first half of the 20^(th)century as example,it studies their factual and imaginative mobility.The cross-regional modernist sensibilities of these writers,as can be seen in their double visions,their characters'fluid consciousness,and the literary fields they interrogate and construct,are aligned with the gendered subjectivity in their works.These women writers'interventions into literary modernism corroborate with the emergence of modernism in Oceania in the early 2oth century.
