葛浩文翻译模式探究——兼论“借帆出海”对中国文学“走出去”的启示

A Study of Howard Goldblatt’s Translation Model:Inspiration for Chinese Literature“Going Out”

莫言斩获诺贝尔文学奖,美国汉学家葛浩文功不可没。葛浩文带有鲜明的“我译”风格,译笔以忠实为原则,以创造性叛逆为特色,以目标语读者为导向,赢得了原作者、市场、出版商的多方好评。作为翻译场域各要素的居间者和中西文化的协调员,葛浩文是海外汉学家群体的缩影,其翻译模式具有典型代表性。文章从葛浩文的译介心理、翻译目的、文化立场与翻译策略入手,旨在探究其翻译模式,并为中国文学“走出去”提供几点启示。

The American Sinologist Howard Goldblatt contributed a lot to the Nobel Prize winner,Mo Yan.With unique,self-centered style,Goldblatt’s translation is based on the principle of faithfulness,characterized by creative treason and oriented to the target language readers.The works of Goldblatt has won many favorable comments from the original author,the market and the publishers.As the mediator of all elements in the translation field and the coordinator of Chinese and Western cultures,Goldblatt forms the epitome of overseas sinologists,his translation model,therefore,being a typical representation.This article starts with Goldblatt’s translation intention and purpose,to his cultural position and translation strategy,aiming to explore his translation model and provide inspiration for Chinese Literature“going out”.
