Popularization of science is an act of popularizing science and technology to the public,which is conducive to enhancing the public's awareness of innovation,improving the public's scientific quality,creating a social atmosphere of innovation,and cultivating scientific and technological reserve talents.The article describes the importance of popularization of plant protection science,and takes the State Key Laboratory for Integrated Management of Plant Diseases and Insect Pests as an example,and lists the main initiatives to strengthen the popularization of plant protection science,such as strengthening the construction of science popularization expert team,launching excellent science popularization works,organizing special plant protection science popularization lecture series,and assisting the educational development of the"Double Reduction"under the linkage of the institute and school,etc..The article also analyzes the effectiveness of plant protection popularization activities and the factors constraining the development of popularization activities,with a view to exploring new modes conducive to the dissemination of plant protection popularization knowledge by organizing various forms of plant protection popularization activities,and providing references for the establishment of a perfect system of plant protection popularization activities.
