Relationship between serum oxidative stress levels and cognitive function in first-episodeuntreated schizophrenia patients

摘要 目的探讨首发未用药精神分裂症患者血清氧化应激水平与认知功能的相关性。方法选取首发未用药精神分裂症患者110例为病例组,同期健康体检者60例为健康组。比较两组血清氧化应激指标[丙二醛(MDA)、氧化型谷胱甘肽(GSSG)、一氧化氮(NO)]及脑源性神经营养因子(BDNF)水平。采用精神分裂症认知功能成套测验(MCCB)评估两组认知功能。分析血清氧化应激指标及BDNF水平与MCCB评分的相关性。结果病例组MDA、GSSG、NO高于健康组,BDNF低于健康组(P<0.05)。病例组认知功能信息处理速度(SoP)、注意/警觉(AV)、工作记忆、词语学习(VrblLrng)、视觉学习(VisLrng)、社会认知、推理和问题解决(RPS)评分低于健康组(P<0.05)。病例组NO与SoP、VrblLrng、VisLrng评分呈负相关(P<0.05),GSSG与SoP、RPS评分呈负相关(P<0.05);BDNF与SoP、AV、VrblLrng、RPS评分呈正相关(P<0.05)。结论精神分裂症患者存在氧化与抗氧化失衡及认知功能损害,氧化应激与认知功能损害相关。 Aim To Explore the correlation between serum oxidative stress levels and cognitive function in firstepisode untreated schizophrenia patients.Methods 110 first-episode untreated schizophrenia patients were selected as the case group,and 60 healthy individuals in the same period were selected as the health group.The levels of serum oxidative stress indicators such as malondialdehyde(MDA),oxidized glutathione(GSSG),nitric oxide(NO),and brain derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)between two groups were compared.Cognitive function of these two groups was evaluated by using the MCCB.The correlation among serum oxidative stress indicators,BDNF levels,and MCCB scores was analyzed.Results The MDA,GSSG,and NO levels in the case group were higher than those in the healthy group,while BDNF levels were lower than those in the healthy group(P<0.05).The cognitive function information processing speed(SoP),attention/alertness(AV),working memory,word learning(VrblLrng),visual learning(VisLrng),social cognition,reasoning,and problem-solving(RPS)scores of the case group were lower than those of the healthy group(P<0.05).In the case group,NO was negatively correlated with SoP,VrblLrng,and VisLrng scores(P<0.05),while GSSG was negatively correlated with SoP and RPS scores(P<0.05).BDNF was positively correlated with SoP,AV,VrblLrng,and RPS scores(P<0.05).Conclusion First-episode untreated schizophrenia patients have imbalance of oxidants and antioxidants as well as impaired cognitive function,and oxidative stress is related with the impairment of cognitive function.
