On June 8,2022,the General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered a n important speech when inspecting Three-su Temple in Meishan,Sichuan province,in which he fully affirmed the Three-su culture and Su Shi’s belief of“Family-country”.Just as Comrade Xi Jinping points out,it is indeed possible for us to“learn the concept and thinking of governance”from the careful analysis and summary of Su Shi’s experience in harnessing the West Lake.The key factors to achieving governance effectiveness include the ruling concept and sense of responsibility of confining everyone to his own duties,scientific decisionmaking,and strong execution.The original intention of“being ashamed of nothing”and the style of seeking truth from facts provide enlightenments for today’s politicians in many aspects.Therefore,it is not only of historical value but also of practical significance to“learn from ideas and thoughts of governance”in the case of Su Shi’s management of the West Lake.
