“淮尺”辨异——从近世尺度分布的区域特点看淮尺的时空流布

An Analysis of the“Huai-ruler”--The Spatial and Temporal Distribution of the“Huai-ruler”from the Regional Characteristics of Scale Distribution

本文综合各史家“淮尺”观点,基于大量相关历史文献的分析比对,探讨了唐代以后各个历史时期“淮尺”可能的尺长范围,梳理了淮尺尺长的演变,将“淮尺”尺长区间厘定为32.5—34.7厘米。在此基础上,通过对近世乡土营造尺中“淮尺”尺长遗存样本的数量统计,结合其尺长分异的总体特征,初步将淮尺分为主、次两簇,借助GIS技术呈现其分布概况。文章初步总结了“淮尺”样本的分布规律,并从政区演变和移民迁徙等视角,分析其背后的历史动因。对淮尺问题的研究,有益于探索淮地可能存在的特有营造逻辑,为整个南方乡土建筑的区划研究提供可靠线索。

This article synthesizes the viewpoints of multiple historians regarding the“Huai-ruler”measurement unit.Through extensive analysis and comparison of relevant historical literature,it explores the possible length ranges of the“Huai-ruler”during different historical periods after the Tang Dynasty.Additionally,it investigates the evolutionary relationship of the“Huai-ruler”length and establishes its range as 32.5-34.7 centimeters.To further examine this topic,the article conducts a quantitative analysis of“Huai-ruler”samples obtained from recent field surveys of carpenter rulers.By analyzing the overall characteristics of the length variations,the article categorizes the“Huai-ruler”into primary and secondary clusters.The distribution of these clusters is presented using GIS technology.Furthermore,the article provides a preliminary summary of the observed distribution patterns among the“Huai-ruler”samples,along with an analysis of the underlying historical factors from the perspectives of regional evolution and migration.Studying the“Huai-ruler”issue not only contributes to exploring the unique construction logic that may exist in the Huai region but also provides valuable evidence for researching the zoning of rural architecture in the entire southern region.
