试论甑皮岩遗址出土的凹石

Research on Cupstones Unearthed from the Zengpiyan Site

凹石是华南史前时期常见的石质工具之一。针对其使用方式和功能的推论和研究,一直众说纷纭,莫衷一是。桂林甑皮岩洞穴遗址出土了大量凹石,对其类型、颜色、质地、体积和重量,以及器表残留的使用痕迹等的观察和分析,可以为认识凹石的使用方式、功能及其与穿孔石器的关系提供重要资料。

Cupstone is a kind of stone tools commonly found in prehistoric South China.However,no consensus has yet been reached regarding the using methods and their function.This paper casts new lights on the issue based on the large quantity of cupstones that were unearthed from the Zengpiyan cave site in Guilin.Through the observation and analysis of types,color,texture,volume,and weight,along with use-wear traces on surfaces,this study provides important data for further understanding the using and functions of cupstones.In addition,this study helps identify the relationship between cupstones and perforated stone tools.
