被遗忘的“小人物”:王懋镕图书馆生涯考略

A Forgotten"Little People":A Study of Wang Maorong′s Library Career

王懋镕是清末民初中国图书馆事业和图书馆学转型发展的重要参与者之一,曾参与过湖南图书馆的扩建,并先后任职于江南图书馆和京师图书馆,但学界对其生平及其图书馆生涯知之甚少。文章梳理了王懋镕在湖南图书馆、江南图书馆和京师图书馆的工作履历,对其图书馆学成就进行了总结。研究发现,王懋镕为中国图书馆事业和图书馆学的早期发展,以及在推动日本图书馆思想传入国内方面做出了重要贡献。

Wang Maorong was one of the important participants in the transformation and development of Chinese libr arianship and library science in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.He had participated in the extension of Hunan Library and served in Jiangnan Library and Jingshi Library successively.However,the academic circle had little knowledge of his life and library career.This paper sorts out Wang Maorong′s work experience in Hunan Library,Jiangnan Library and Jingshi Library,and summarizes his achievements in library science.The study found that Wang Maorong had made important contributions to the early development of Chinese librarianship and library science,as well as to the promotion of Japanese library thoughts into China.
