School commuting refers to the traffic behavior of students going back and forth between home and school. This research combs through the studies on international school commuting which shifted from attaching importance to safety to health and then to social development, which shows the realistic trend of the decline of active school commuting. It also analyzes the impact on children's physiological growth, psychological and social development, and the influential factors from the perspective of society, school, family and students,as well as the relevant social intervention.Generally speaking, the research in this area has shown a clear development outline and has exerted a great impact. But it also revealed the profound internal conflict between research and practice, after long-term accumulation, international general research has shown a clear research context and has had a great impact focusing on the contradiction between the pursuit of social efficiency and the natural growth of students'bodies. The systematic analysis of school commuting researches overseas has the significant reference values for the development and effective accumulation of school commuting in China.
