国际化视域下新时代医学院校"使命、愿景与价值观"表述的思考

Thinking medical schools′ articulation of ″mission, vision and values″ in the new era with an international perspective

目的对比分析中外一流医学院校"使命、愿景与价值观"表述, 为我国新时代医学院校"使命、愿景与价值观"表述提供借鉴。方法 2022年10至12月, 基于文本分析和文化话语研究, 对国内外22所医学院校的"使命, 愿景与价值观"相关表述进行语言学特征和民族文化等超语言现象的全面分析。结果与国外一流院校和中国香港2所医学院校相比, 我国内地一流医学院校缺乏清晰且完整的"使命、愿景与价值观"表述, 既不利于中国医学教育的国际形象传播, 又容易在与国际医学界开展交流合作时引发误解。结论 "使命、愿景与价值观"作为高校战略规划的重要组成部分, 对其加以清晰表述有利于明确办学定位, 统一使命驱动, 落实行动方案。我国内地医学院校应积极构建与新时代高等教育高质量发展相匹配的"使命、愿景与价值观"表述, 彰显时代特色, 培养适应国际化发展需要的高等医学人才。

Objective To analyze the expression of″mission,vision and values″of medical schools domestically and internationally,so as to inspire insights and provide a reasonable framework for a better articulation of these concepts.Methods Under a holistic and cultural view,a text-based discourse analysis was conducted from October to December 2022,which compared 22 medical schools domestically and internationally in terms of their expressions of″mission,vision and values″.Results There is a lack of clear and definite articulation of″mission,vision and values″among medical schools in Chinese mainland.This might hurt the international profile of its medical education and cause misunderstanding in the international exchanges.Absence of mission statement reflects a different way of thinking and language use.Conclusions Medical schools in the new era face emerging challenges worldwide.Internationalization should be fully considered in training future health professionals and creating a platform for global dialogue.In order to better address it,medical schools in Chinese mainland need to revisit how their″mission,vision and values″are articulated and communicated to the world.Thus each medical school can align the understanding and pace in the implementation of action plans under the guidance of its mission statement and realize the goals and vision accordingly.
