The reform of the junior high school history curriculum has been developing in depth,and the task of cultivating students'core literacy runs through the whole time.The unit teaching approach,centered on the big concept,serves as a comprehensive and structured platform for enhancing core literacy skills and driving classroom teaching reform forward.It is necessary to establish a theoretical framework and develop practical strategies for implementing the big concept.Big concept is not only a form of knowledge,but also a way of thinking.It takes into account different types of knowledge,such as factual knowledge,conceptual knowledge,procedural knowledge and metacognition.It is based on the entirety,focuses on the structure,explores the value and meaning,making it a valuable tool for students to gain transferable knowledge and to develop core literacy.
