Richard Powers's novel Generosity:An Enhancement presents the process of specific genetic technology studies moving from the laboratory to real-world medical practice against the backdrop of the development of genomics in the 21st century.Drawing on the recent academic discussions about transhuman discourse and subjectivity, this paper examines the interpretation of the dilemma in which the vision of the transhuman is confronted with capital and the market. It argues that the author envisions the possibility of a relational subject with symbiosis of human and science and technology by revealing the inherent limitations of the transhumanist idea of“human enhancement”of the subject, and in this way explores and responds to the debate between the“two cultures”of science and technology and humanity in the development of society.
