摘要
利用中国健康与养老追踪调查(CHARLS)2018年数据,采用多元回归方法,实证检验了家庭老年照料对子女就业的影响,以期为子女就业、养老服务政策制定提供科学依据。结果表明:家庭老年照料会使子女的劳动参与率下降22.59%;对于仍然工作的子女,照料责任会使其每年减少工作时间187.464小时。此外,家庭老年照料对劳动力供给的影响在性别、城乡和居住安排方面存在异质性。由此推断,家庭老年照料会对子女就业产生抑制作用。
Based on data from the 2018 China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study(CHARLS)and using multiple regression,this paper empirically tested the relationship between family care for the aged and adult children's employment,so as to provide a scientific basis for policy formulation of adult children's employment and senior care services.Results show that participation in family eldercare can reduce the labor participation rate of adult children by 22.59%.For adult children who are still in employment,caring responsibilities would reduce their working time by 187.464 hours per year.Moreover,the influence of family senior care on labor supply is heterogeneous in terms of gender,locality(urban or rural),and living arrangement.This paper then concluded that family eldercare could exert an inhibitory effect on adult children's employment.
