Academic writing is a fundamental component of college English courses.While how to stimulate students'interest in and creativity in writing,and how to make their writing more vibrant and original?The answer is creative writing.This study aims to delve into the importance and potential value of creative writing in college English education,including its definition,characteristics,and applications in higher education.Creative writing not only enhances students writing skills but also nurtures innovative thinking,problem-solving and expressive abilities,all of which are critical skills for 2lst-century students.Through this research,the author aims to provide college English educators with an in-depth perspective on creative writing,in order to explore new teaching methods,inspire students'academic potential,and enhance their writing skills and creativity.
