As the core field of second language learning,second language acquisition(SLA)has been paid attention by scholars.In the process of second language acquisition,learners usually go through a series of language development stages,one of the most common phenomena is the fossilization of interlanguage.Interlanguage fossilization means that learners are influenced by their mother tongue and other foreign languages in their efforts to acquire a new language,resulting in an intermediate form of language,and showing some nativization or foreignization features of the new language.This paper will analyse the fossilization of interlanguage,its types and manifestations,and focus on the relationship between fossilization and second language acquisition.Finally,in order to provide useful reference for English teaching practice,the paper will summarize the teaching enlightenment of interlanguage fossilization to English education.
