Benjamin's translation thoughts are mainly reflected in his article"The Task of the Translator",which was published a hundred years ago.Since the 1960s,this article has been highly valued by the translation circle and has become an inescapable classic.However,because Benjamin's writing is ancient and obscure,and his language is poetic and concise,it not only causes people's confusion in understanding but also arouses people's interest in interpreting.Benjamin put forward or developed a series of concepts such as"pure language""translatability""original work,translation and life continuation",which are interlinked and integrated,and thus build up the edifice of his translation thought.In order to understand Benjamin's translation thought correctly,this article sorts out and clarifies these concepts in a dialectic way,and thus promote the study of Benjamin's translation theory.
