Local Agents and the Novel Outlook on Modernizing Chinese Governance:A Synopsis of the Seminar on the Modernization of Local Governance:Practices and Theoretical Construction in China

地方治理作为国家治理的重要组成,是理解中国政治运行的“活”窗口。为聚焦中国地方治理实践及经验阐释,探讨新时代中国地方治理现代化的新趋向、新路径,共同推动中国特色地方治理学术体系、话语体系构建,清华大学社会科学学院政治学系、郑州大学社会治理河南省协同创新中心、郑州大学政治与公共管理学院于2023年8月18日~21日在河南新密召开了“地方治理现代化:中国实践与理论建构”研讨会,重访“压力型体制”概念的发生地,再思“压力型体制”概念的生命力。

Local governance,an integral part of national governance,acts as a dynamic window into the workings of Chinese poli-tics.To shed light on the practices and insights of local governance in China and discuss the emerging trends and approaches in the modernization of local governance for the New Era,the Department of Politics of Tsinghua University's School of Social Sci-ences,the Henan Province Collaborative Innovation Center for Social Governance at Zhengzhou University,and Zhengzhou University's School of Politics and Public Administration held a seminar from August 18 to 21,2023,in Xinmi,Henan.This seminar,titled"The Modernization of Local Governance:Practices and Theoretical Construction in China,"revisited the origin of the"pressurized system"concept to reassess its relevance and endurance.
