TCM master HONG Guangxiang had rich experience in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pulmonary heart disease,he believed that root vacuity and tip repletion was the basic characteristic of chronic pulmonary heart disease,and that phlegm and blood stagnation in lung and deficiency of zong qi were the key pathogenesis of pulmonary heart disease.And put forward the principle of'reinforcing deficiency and reducing excess throughout the whole process'.In the process of treating chronic pulmonary heart disease,we should grasp the characteristics of different stages,differentiate syndrome and remove evil.and achieve the purpose of treating people and treating diseases by the whole process of reinforcing deficiency and reducing excess.This article introduces the theoretical basis,application premise and classification of professor HONG Guangxiang's principle of'reinforcing deficiency and reducing excess throughout the whole process in the treatment of chronic pulmonary heart disease,and onecase wasgivenas an example.
