This paper tells the story of a cross-cultural love history in a multinational family at les Cinq Diables Lake from the perspective of the young protagonist,Vicky,who has been endowed with the unique gift to transcend time and space through smell.This paper portrays a life filled with missed opportunities,regrets,loss,and melancholy,and boldly depicts a complex love affair that transcends gender and race.Through an extremely simple narrative structure,the film reveals in a natural way the transformation of family concepts and ethical standards under the social evolution in contemporary France.From Vicky’s perspective,the film depicts the occurrence,and development of this family’s emotional turmoil,and its eventual transition to the audience’s real-life experiences,and presents a fantastic love drama driven by inner demons at the lake’s shore.
