The Contribution of Overseas Chinese in Jiangsu to the Development of Chinese Culture since the Establishment of New China

新中国成立后,江苏华侨华人纷纷回国,积极参与祖国建设,在经济文化领域贡献良多。改革开放以来,江苏华侨华人与江苏经济、社会和文化等方面的联系日益加强,对祖国和家乡的文化认同感较高,他们以回国投资、参与公益文化事业等方式促进了江苏经济文化的发展。该文通过对新中国成立以来江苏华侨华人历史资料的梳理,同时与我国其他地区华侨华人群体的比较研究,分析总结江苏华侨华人对祖国和家乡的历史贡献。研究梳理江苏华侨华人群体特征及历史贡献,有利于我们更好地认识江苏华侨华人群体在中外经济文化交流中的特殊作用及影响,为江苏侨务政策及统战工作提供有益参考。

After the establishment of the People's Republic of China,overseas Chinese in Jiangsu returned to China and actively participated in the construction of their ancestral country,making significant contributions in the economic and cultural fields.Since the reform and opening up,the connections between overseas Chinese in Jiangsu and the economy,society,and culture of Jiangsu have been increasingly strengthened,and they have a high sense of cultural identity with their motherland and hometown.They have promoted the development of Jiangsu's economy and culture by returning to China for investment and participating in public welfare cultural undertakings.This article analyzes and summarizes the historical contributions of overseas Chinese in Jiangsu to the motherland and hometown by sorting out the historical materials of overseas Chinese in Jiangsu since the founding of the People's Republic of China,and comparing them with other groups of overseas Chinese in other regions of China.Studying and sorting out the characteristics and historical contributions of the overseas Chinese community in Jiangsu is beneficial for us to better understand the special role and influence of the overseas Chinese community in Sino foreign economic and cultural exchanges,and provide useful references for Jiangsu's overseas Chinese affairs policies and united front work.
