国家叙事视域下的政治文献英译策略研究——以2023年《政府工作报告》为例

A Study on the English Translation Strategies of Political Literature of the Chinese Government Work Report 2023 in the Perspective of National Narrative

国家叙事是以国家为主体的对外传播活动,通过翻译国家叙事文本来实现,对塑造国家形象、获得国际认同具有战略性意义。该文以2023年《政府工作报告》及其英译本为例,以国家叙事目的为切入点对译文进行研究,探索译者在语言与文化层面上所使用的归化和异化策略,阐释并探讨诸如注释、补充、同化、意译、直译、拆分句子、增加衔接词和重构句子结构等一系列翻译技巧。该文可加深人们对政治文献翻译中国家叙事目的的认识,同时也为政治文献翻译实践提供参考,这有助于讲好中国故事,有效传播中国声音,提高中国的国际话语权。

National Narrative is a nation-oriented international communication matter,which is realized through translating national narrative texts,and is of strategic significance in shaping the nation's image and gaining international recognition.Taking Government Work Report 2023 and its English translation as an example,this paper analyzes the translation with the purpose of the national narrative as an entry point,exploring the naturalization and alienation strategies used by translators at the linguistic and cultural levels.A series of translation techniques such as annotation,supplementation,assimilation,paraphrasing,literal translation,sentence splitting,addition of linking words,and restructuring of sentences are explained.This study can deepen people's understanding of the purpose of national narratives in political translation,and offer inspirations for the translation of political literature,which can help to tell China's story well,soundly spread Chinese voice,and enhance our international discourse.
