翻译等值理论是翻译研究领域的重要理论之一,它探讨了不同语言之间的等值关系及如何在翻译过程中保持等值。随着计算机技术的普及与发展,机器翻译虽然已经取得了一系列成就,但仍无法实现翻译完全等值,尤其针对文学文本翻译而言难度更大。基于此,该文首先简要回顾了西方翻译等值理论的起源以及后期的发展。西方翻译等值理论最早由里乌提出,经过雅各布森、卡特福德及奈达等学者从不同角度对其进行阐释,可以看出其理论的复杂程度。其次,该文分析了翻译等值理论在机器翻译和文学翻译实践中应用的局限性,从而找出其可发展的空间,进而提出未来翻译等值理论可发展的方向,以期进一步推动该理论的完善和发展。

Translation equivalence theory is one of the important theories in the field of translation research,which explores the equivalence relationship between different languages and how to maintain equivalence in the translation process.With the popularization and development of computer technology,although machine translation has made a series of achievements,it is still more difficult to realize the full equivalence of translation,especially for literary text translation.Based on this,this paper firstly briefly reviews the origin and later development of the Western translation equivalence theory,from the earliest proposed by E.V.Rieu,through Jacobson,Catford,and Nida and other scholars from different perspectives of its interpretation,which can be seen in the degree of complexity of its theory.Secondly,the limitations of the application of translation equivalence theory in the practice of machine translation and literary translation are analyzed,so as to find out the space for its development,and then to propose the directions in which translation equivalence theory can be developed in the future,with a view to further promoting the improvement and development of the theory.
