Platelets are one of the important components of the tumor microenvironment, which can promote the tumor cell growth and metastasis, induce angiogenesis and mediate immune escape of ovarian cancer. The number and volume of platelets are changed dynamically with the changes of the tumor microenvironment, suggesting that platelet-related biomarkers may have potential for early diagnosis and monitoring of tumor status, and the antiplatelet and platelet-targeted drugs might be a new therapeutic strategy for ovarian cancer. This paper reviews the role of platelet-related tumor microenvironment in ovarian cancer, and elaborates platelet-related biomarkers, and antiplatelet and targeted therapy of ovarian cancer, aiming to provide new directions for clinical management of ovarian cancer.
