The automatic water quality monitoring technology plays an important role in water environment protection.The role and specific application strategies of automatic water quality monitoring technology in water environment protection were discussed.The importance of automatic water quality monitoring technology in improving water environment quality and achieving sustainable development has been revealed through the elaboration of source control and pollution prevention,water resource management,application of automatic water quality monitoring technology,and environmental monitoring system construction.
