“野人山”再考

Rediscussion of the Yerenshan Mountain

“野人山”一词最早出现于乾隆三十四年,之后随着近代中缅边界问题的出现以及中国远征军撤离缅北而多见于相关文献。但是在不同时期、不同类型的文献中,其具体所指不同。与“野人山”相关联的“野人”,也不能对应现今的某个民族,而是该区域内多个民族的统称。放宽视野,“野人山”亦非“化外之地”,而是古代中国连接南亚、东南亚的一个十分重要的“民族走廊”。

The term Yerenshan Mountain(野人山)first appeared in documents in the 34th year of Qianlong period.With the emergence of the China-Myanmar border issue in modern times and the withdrawal of the Chinese Expeditionary Force from northern Myanmar,it became more common in related literature.However,in different periods and different types of documents,its specific meaning is different.The Yeren(野人)associated with Yerenshan Mountain cannot correspond to a certain ethnic group today,but a collective name for multiple ethnic groups in the area.Broadening the perspective,the Yerenshan Mountain is not an uncivilized place,but a very important ethnic corridor connecting China to South Asia and Southeast Asia.
