《周南》《召南》“南”字得名考

Researchon the Name of the Word“South”in Odes of Zhou and The South and Odes of Shao and The South

《诗经》十五国风中,《周南》《召南》的得名问题,历史上争论颇多。其原因在于,从先周时期到《诗经》编纂成集的过程中,南国词义发生了三次较大的意义上的变化。这种变化,使得二南诗的地域也发生了变化。后人多有不识,这导致了在解读上的混淆,应该予以厘清。二南得名于南国这一名称,这不仅得到了《诗经》内证的支持,也得到了出土文献上的支持。

Among the fifteen lessons from the states in the Book of Poems,the name of Odes ofZhou and the South and Odes of Shao and the South has been debated in history.The reason is that from the early Zhou period to the compilation of the Book of Poems,there were three major changes in the meaning of the South country.This change made the area of the two South poems also changed.Many later generations do not know,which leads to confusion in interpretation that should be clarified.The name of the two South is the name of the“South country”,which is not only supported by the evidence in the Book of Poems,but also by the unearthed documents.
