摘要
2017年诺贝尔文学奖得主石黑一雄的长篇小说《上海孤儿》中有大量互文手法:《上海孤儿》与《远大前程》在人物命名、人物形象、人生经历、故事情节等方面具有明显的互文性,其目的在于对《远大前程》进行戏仿和帮助主人公班克斯完成身份建构;对《名利场》的戏仿帮助女主人公莎拉补充前半生经历、颠覆原戏仿对象的形象、体现作者的女性意识。作者通过与经典文学作品互文、借用经典文学作品的元素来构建小说人物的身份,展现了作者对于身份问题的思考。
Lots of intertextuality can be found in When We Were Orphans by Kazuo Ishiguro,who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2017.The novel bears intertextual relationships with Great Expectations in terms of character names,images,life experiences and plots with a view to parodying and contributing to the formation of Banks’s identity;when it comes to the parody of Vanity Fair,the purpose is to fill in the gap of Sarah’s early life,subvert the image of the parodied,and reflect the author’s female consciousness.The author makes an endeavor to illustrate his view on identity by taking intertextuality with classic literature as a way to construct characters’identity.
