摘要
本文综述了自项目式学习引入外语教学40年来的理论探索和实证研究。理论探索方面,相关研究根据项目式学习的内涵和特征,构建其应用于外语教学的理论框架。实证研究主要围绕项目式学习在语言学习和内容学习、个人素养发展、跨文化交际能力发展以及将其用于外语教学的评价四个方面展开。然而,项目式学习对部分学习者和教师来说实施难度较大。未来的教学可以从教学内容、教学方法、教学媒介和评价方式入手促进其推广。本文对在外语教学中开展项目式学习实践与研究有重要启示。
This paper reviews theoretical exploration and empirical research on project-based learning(PBL)in foreign language teaching over four decades.Theoretical frameworks are constructed for the application of PBL in accordance with the characteristics of foreign language teaching.Empirical studies mainly focus on the effects of PBL on language and content learning,individual competence development,cross-cultural communication skills development,and the assessment of its role in foreign language teaching.However,PBL is hard to implement to some learners and teachers.Future teaching practices could promote the application of PBL in foreign languge teaching from the perspectives of teaching content,teaching methods,medium of instruction,and evaluation methods.This paper offers important insights for implementing and researching PBL in foreign language teaching.
