翻译过程的概念整合新解——以《红楼梦》文化负载词英译为例

New insights into translation process from the perspective of conceptual blending theory:A case study of translations of culture-bound terms in Hong Lou Meng

本研究基于概念整合理论提出新型概念整合模式,从认知语言学视角诠析了翻译的概念整合过程:“源语输入空间”与“译者输入空间”进行首轮概念整合,在“源语合成空间”中生成新创结构,即“译者解构语义”;之后“源语合成空间”作为新的输入空间与“目标语输入空间”在次轮概念整合中映射,最终在“目标语合成空间”生成新创结构,即译文。在此基础上,选取《红楼梦》文化负载词英译例示译者在翻译过程中的概念整合操作,以期厘清译者翻译认知机制,彰显译者主体性和主体间性,助力翻译过程本体理论研究的推进。

Based on Conceptual Blending Theory,this study proposes a new conceptual blending model,which reveals that there are two rounds of conceptual blending,on the translator's side,when the translation happens:the first round of conceptual blending happens between‘Source Language Input Space'and‘Translator Input Space',which generates the‘Emergent Structure'that contains all the meanings deconstructed by the translator in‘Source Language Blending Space';Then the‘Source Language Blending Space',as one of the input spaces of the second round of conceptual blending,maps with‘Target Language Input Space',which finally generates the‘Emergent Structure',i.e.the final version of translation,in‘Target Language Blending Space'.Based on that,this study then analyzes the translations of culture-bound terms in Hong Lou Meng to exemplify how the translator achieves conceptual blending in translation.By analyzing concepts blending of the translator in translation process,this study aims to highlight the subjectivity and intersubjectivity of the translator,clarify the cognitive mechanism of translation process,and assist in the advancement of the ontological research on translation process.
