The"Gui"in the Heavenly Stem has the meaning of measuring the horizontal level in winter, from which the theory that it is associated with the Kidney and the Kidney meridian of foot Shaoyin in Huang Di Nei Jing is just originated. The use of water to measure levels and vertical lines to measure levels and straightness is the foundation of various techniques in architecture, which is closely related to the theories in Huang Di Nei Jing, such as"Kidney is a strong official functioning in skillful techniques","Shaoyin Kidney correspond to July","the Three Yang correspond the exterior"and"Two Yin correspond to the interior".The water surface means the leveled Earth surface and based on which the Heaven is formed. This is the origin of theories such as"the most Yin is the deep water","the four seasons represent the whole development process of the birth and diminish of Yang Qi","Shaoyang functions as the pivot",and"Shaoyin functions as the pivot".The origin of the understanding of the functions of the Kidney or foot Shaoyin Kidney meridian in regulating Water and storing Essence as well as the interrelationships between the functions of the Gallbladder or foot Shaoyang Gallbladder meridian, such as the"upright official"and"one Yang as the basis"are reflected in the Chinese characters of"ten"and"rice"shaped patterns along the mouth of the pottery basin painted fish and human face in Yangshao Culture.
