In this paper,the research progress of marine storm deposits is reviewed,and the research methods including traditional petrological analysis and microfossil analysis are discussed in depth.The research results will lay a theoretical foundation for reducing the damage and economic losses of extreme tropical cyclones and broadening the width and breadth of storm deposits in the geologicalfield in the future.
