“用英语讲述中国故事”对学生思辨倾向的影响 被引量:2

The Effects of Telling China's Stories in English on Students'Critical Thinking Disposition

摘要 本研究采用实验研究方法,将某高校英语专业60名学生分为实验班和对照班,实验班以思辨能力培养为导向,开展用英语讲述中国故事教学实践,运用思辨倾向量表中文版对两组学生进行前后测对比分析,探讨用英语讲述中国故事教学实践对提升英语专业学生思辨能力的有效性。研究发现,通过开展用英语讲述中国故事教学实践,实验组学生的思辨倾向水平总体较为积极且呈稳步上升趋势。对照组学生的思辨倾向水平随着年级的增长呈下降趋势。实验组学生的思辨倾向总体水平、求真性、思维开放度、认知成熟度显著高于对照组。两组学生的分析能力、系统化能力、思辨自信心和探究性没有显著差异。研究表明,用英语讲述中国故事教学实践以英语为媒介,以中国故事为内容依托,将课程思政与英语专业课程有机融合,能够有效促进学生思辨能力提升,实现价值引领。研究为高等外语专业课程思政教学改革提供建议和启示。 This study employed an experimental design to divide a cohort of 60 students majoring in English into two distinct groups:the experimental group and the control group.The experimental group underwent an instructional program aimed at fostering critical thinking skills,with a specific focus on telling China's stories in English.The study utilized the Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory(Chinese version)to assess students'critical thinking dispositions in both pretest and posttest phases,with the overarching objective of gauging the effects of incorporating the practice of telling China's stories in English into the English curriculum for enhancing the critical thinking abilities of English major students.The findings showed that the practice of telling China's stories in English engendered a positive and consistently upward trajectory in critical thinking dispositions among students in the experimental group.In contrast,students in the control group demonstrated a decline in critical thinking dispositions over time.The experimental group demonstrated significantly higher levels of critical thinking dispositions in domains such as general disposition,truth seeking,open-mindedness,and cognitive maturity when compared to the control group.No statistically significant differences were evident between the two groups in terms of analytical ability,systematic thinking,self-confidence and inquisitiveness.The study underscores that the integration of moral education within the English curriculum,through the medium of English and the context of Chinese narratives,effectively facilitates the development of students'critical thinking abilities while aligning with the promotion of socialist core values.The study yields significant implications and recommendations for the integration of moral education in college-level English instruction.
