The attitude toward death in Morrison' s works reflects her concern for the spiritual and life needs of the black community and shows the author's humanistic concern and view on life and death.Based on the author's upbringing and social environment,the types and imagery of death frequently appearing in several representative novels of Morrison are analyzed to explore how black people exploring their personal value and life meaning.It helps to understand more clearly how Morrison uses the writing of death to reproduce the tragic history of the black people.It also helps to reconstruct the ethnic memory of the black people,understand Morrison's ideas of multicultural integration,as well as to give meaning and emotional direction to the black community,in order to provide a new research perspective for the study of the works of other American minority novelists with similar political encounters and life experiences as Morrison.
