摘要
基于认知语言学基本层次范畴理论,对初中英语词汇的语音模拟进行了探讨。研究发现,一些初中英语词汇的语音和意义之间存在着直接模拟、间接模拟和隐喻模拟三种情形,表现为显性拟声词、隐性拟声词和隐喻拟声词。显性拟声词体现了词汇音响形象和其表征声音之间的直接映照;隐性拟声词体现了词汇发音特征和其表征动作状况、事物状态之间的间接对应;隐喻拟声词涉及两种不同的事物/事态,指示这两种事物/事态的词汇语音相同或相近,两种事物/事态之间存在某种隐喻关联,表现出一种“音相近,义相关”的情形。教师在教学中应引导学生建立拟声词语音和意义之间的理据关联,从而提高词汇学习效率。
This paper probes into phonetic simulation of words for Junior Middle School English from the perspective of basic level category theory.The findings are as follows:There exist three kinds of simulations between certain English words’pronunciation and their meanings,namely explicit simulation,implicit simulation and metaphoric simulation,which are manifested as explicit onomatopoeic words,implicit onomatopoeic words and metaphoric onomatopoeic words.Explicit onomatopoeic words are the direct reflection of the denoting meaning of a word in its sound,and implicit onomatopoeic words are the analogical resemblance between the phonetic feature of the word and its meaning.Metaphoric onomatopoeic words get involved with two different kinds of things or actions,which share some similar features while the words representing them are the same or alike in sound.Consequently,English teachers should give the students guidance on the relationship between the meaning and the sound of these onomatopoeic words so as to facilitate their word learning.
