"Drawings of Wuyi Jiuqu"with Wuyi Mountain as the painting title was once popular in the painting circles of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. As a global image with crosscultural influence,it has been widely spread to foreign countries, such as Korea,Japan, and the United Kingdom. However, what is little known is that this classic image was not created by famous painters, but generated with the help of the medium of block print in the context of printing culture. Thanks to the mature traditional woodblock printing industry and print circulation network in northern Fujian,it has been disseminated on a large scale by its reproducibility from the beginning of its birth, and then formed a highly stable pattern, and finally made the image realize the possibility of cross-cultural communication. This case study based on the medium of print can no doubt provide a new thinking about the topic of communication in art history.
