学习效率视角下全英文课程的困境和应对策略

The Agony of English Medium Instruction(EMI)Courses From the Perspective of Learning Efficiency and Solutions

摘要 为了顺应全球化发展,提高高校国际地位,我国高校开设了越来越多的全英文课程。然而,全英文课程在实践中遇到了诸多困难,影响了教学质量,打击了学生的学习积极性。文章从学习效率的视角出发,调查全英文课程的现状,对全英文课程教学效率进行了量化研究,找出了全英文课程效率低下的根源,提出了编写适合中国学生的全英文教材、加强全英文课程师资队伍建设、优化教学方法等建议。 In order to keep pace with the development of globalization,improve the international status of higher education,China has started more and more English medium instruction(EMI)courses.However,EMI has met some difficulties in practice,which affects the teaching quality and discourages the students'learning enthusiasm.From the perspective of teaching and learning efficiency of EMI,this paper tries some quantitative researches,analyzes the present situation of EMI teaching and finds out the root causes of the low ineffi⁃ciency of EMI.Based on the findings,this paper also provides some suggestions,such as compiling EMI teaching materials suitable for Chinese students,nurturing EMI teaching staff and optimizing teaching methods.
