《荀子》英译研究述评

A Review of Studies on English translations of the Xunzi

《荀子》是中国传统哲学典籍,对中国哲学思想产生了深远影响。然而,《荀子》英译本有限,对其英译的研究也远远滞后于荀子思想研究。文章对国内外《荀子》英译研究进行分析与总结,发现国外研究聚焦译文优劣评析,国内研究则既有微观的语言层面分析,也有宏观的典籍对外传播路径探索,但仍然存在一定局限性,需深入研究,以推动《荀子》英译及其研究的发展。

As a traditional Chinese philosophical classic,the Xunzi has had a profound impact on Chinese philosophy.However,its English translations are limited,and the research on them lag behind that on Xunzi's thought.This paper analyzes and summarizes the re⁃search on the English translations of the Xunzi at home and abroad,and finds that foreign research are mainly reviews of the strong and weak points of the translations,while domestic research focus on both the concrete analysis of the language and the overall exploration of the foreign dissemination of classics.However,there are still limitations and further studies are needed in order to promote the development of the English translation of the Xunzi and its studies.
