The Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuary.This site covers an area of 9,245 square kilometers,encompassing Baoxing County where the world's first giant panda was discovered,seven nature reserves in Sichuan Province including Wolong National Nature Reserve,as well as nine scenic parks including Mount Qingcheng-Dujiangyan Scenic Area.Home to over 30%of the world's wild giant pandas,the sanctuary is the largest and most significant remaining contiguous habitat of its kind globally,as well as one of the botanically richest sites of any temperate region in the world.It was inscribed as a UNEscO World Heritage Sitein July 2006.
