“中西医结合”术语英译之商榷

Discussion on the English Translation of the Term“Zhongxiyi Jiehe”

在人类卫生健康共同体的大背景下,中西医结合医学不仅在中国迅速发展,也正作为中国经验向国外传播。然而,中西医结合医学发展半个多世纪以来,其英文译法尚未得到统一。文中通过检索计量了该术语目前常见的译法,并经过文献梳理厘清该术语的内涵,探讨并尝试提出“中西医结合”这一术语在不同语境下的译法,以期为类似术语英译问题的研究抛砖引玉,提供思路。

In the context of building a shared community of health for all,Zhongxiyi Jiehe has not only undergone rapid development in China but also proved itself a worthwhile experience to share with the world.Despite a history of over half a century,its English translation has yet to be standardized.We collected and analyzed common translations of this term in various texts and extended tentative translation versions under different circumstances after discerning the meaning of this term.The discussion is expected to provide insights for studying the translation of similar terms.
