To explore the role of reading therapy in pediatric palliative care,beloved picture books were selected as reading materials.A case study was conducted using the application of picture book reading therapy in clinical social work services.The study provides a detailed account of the applicable subjects for reading therapy,the selection of picture books,and specific implementation steps.The positive effects of reading therapy were thoroughly analyzed,including promoting children's understanding of their medical conditions,accepting the reality of their situations,and improving their negative emotions.The therapy also played a crucial role in helping children comprehend the concept of life,transforming their perceptions of death,alleviating fear of death,and assisting them in finding meaning in life and fulfilling their end-of-life wishes.Reflections and summaries were made in conjunction with considerations during the service and the sustained effects of the intervention,providing practical experience for pediatric palliative care services.
